Each April, the Alberta Dental Association (ADA) is proud to celebrate National Oral Health Month—Canada’s largest oral health campaign to raise awareness, improve access to oral health care, and build a healthier, brighter future for all Canadians.
For the 2025 campaign, the ADA encourages families to adopt small habits that make a big difference, avoid risky dental fads, and find a dentist and oral health team that they trust.

Small Habits Have a BIG Impact
Oral health starts with simple, consistent habits— brushing twice daily, flossing, eating a balanced diet and visiting your dentist regularly. A solid daily routine lays the foundation for a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime. No matter your age, prioritizing these basics helps protect both your smile and your overall health.
Fads Fade—Stick to Proven Practices for Lasting Results
DIY trends and social media “hacks” may promise quick results but often lead to lasting damage. Instead of chasing the latest fad, trust your dentist for guidance.
Healthy smiles don’t need shortcuts; simple habits like brushing with fluoride toothpaste, flossing, eating a balanced diet and drinking water are proven to work.
Stick with practices grounded in science, not viral trends—fads fade, but a healthy smile is always in style.
Oral Health is a Team Sport
Your dental health care team is committed to caring for your teeth, mouth and overall health. Working together, they help catch issues early and maintain your oral health. Trust them to keep your smile strong for years to come.
